Have you ever done a treatment thinking its going to be the answer to all your hair prayers and IT WAS A TOTAL LET DOWN ?? Well there are a few steps you probably missed !! Depending on the kind of treatment you utilize whether  protein or moisture based . It is important to you know what your hair needs in order to get optimal results!! The difference between both in a nut shell , Protein-based , strengthens hair while Moisture-based  hydrates the hair !! Now that we have that covered ,below you have the  important steps some tend to miss …

 ImageImage

STEP # 1 Shampoo hair with WARM/HOT water to remove build-up

Wring water out of hair and apply treatment of choice

*in shower NOT TOWEL DRIED

STEP # 2 Wet a small towel and heat it up in a microwave for 1min. then wrap it around your head and add a plastic shower cap on top “moist heat therapy” opens the cuticle of the hair and lets treatment penetrate deeper

Leave on for 10min.

STEP# 3 Rinse out with cold  water to contract the cuticle of the hair and lock in the benefits of the treatment !!

MOIST HEAT THERAPY is most commonly used for rehabilitation purposes ,pains and aches!! same goes for hair that has been over worked with hot tools ,  chemical services and free radicals!!

*So when doing a treatment do not forget steps 1-3 and remember your thermal protectant when styling with heat 🙂

Till next time mi gente …

Lacking Shine, Bounce and Elasticity YOU SAY??? Worried the holidays are right around the corner and your best accessory is not playing the part!! I have just what you need. Here you have it. The Protein/Elasticity Boost Treatment!! Its cost effective, easy to make, not to mention it gives outstanding results. Its my personal favorite with instant gratification!!

Keep in mind that everything you do to your hair will show. If you are indulging in curling, blow drying or using products with large amounts of alcohol this can and WILL damage your lovely locks. Be wise and remember moderation is key. In order to get a different result one must do something different. Go to your market of choice pick up these ingredients listed below and see the difference.

NATURAL HAIR LOSS TREATMENT TIP
1 TSP PUMPKIN SEED OIL
1 TSP  TUMERIC OIL
1 AVOCADO
mix well
shampoo hair with hot water to open the cuticle and remove build up
ring water out well with hands
apply treatment into scalp and hair
clip it up for 15/20 min
then with a low p/h balanced shampoo (normally a repairing one) is the lowest in p/h.
rinse with very cold water to lock in the moisture and close the cuticle
AVOCADO: Did you know that your hair grows half and inch every month? Vitamin deficiency and related scalp disease can lead to hair LOSS or stunted growth. Vitamin deficiency can cause hair loss or hair to grow slowly. Avocados are high in vitamins B and E, which work at the cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Vitamin B is essential for hair growth. Vitamin E helps repair damage on the scalp, which may slow or prevent hair growing. Healthy hair grows half an inch every month. Using avocado in a conditioner or as a hair mask are the best ways to promote regular hair growth.

TUMERIC: The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric make it effective to relieve skin and scalp conditions like itchy, flaky, inflammation or thinning hair. Cicatricial alopecia results from inflammation that damages the follicle and prevents new hair growth. Fungal infections affecting the scalp may also induce hair loss. The antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antibacterial, antioxidant, antiseptic and myriad other properties of curcumin, the main active ingredient in turmeric, are effective against these ailments in many individuals.

PUMPKIN SEED OIL: A compound in pumpkin seed oil called delta-7-sterine works to reduce the effects of DHT in men / women. Delta-7-sterine is a very mild steroid that specifically competes with the stronger dihydrotestosterone at the receptor sites of prostate cells and possibly hair follicles. Where delta-7-sterine attaches to cell receptors, DHT is blocked from having its damaging effect on the cell.
